DR. HAMEED SHAH
Research and Teaching expertise
I exploited my potentials in teaching soon after my graduation in 2006 while currently, I have more than nine years of teaching and almost the same years of research experience along with the successful up-gradation of my qualifications from Master’s to MPhil, and finally to PhD.
Carbon-based nanoparticles synthesis, characterization and bioapplication by developing new synthetic methodologies knockdown on new precursors was successfully achieved during PhD research, whereas MPhil thesis dissertation was on the new approaches for the novel Natural Products Isolation, characterization, and bio-applications along with their organic synthetic derivatizations. Similarly, a novel synthetic approach was developed for fibreglass composites, based on polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) during an industrial project. As a whole 11 peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters has been published. The CAS-TWAS fellowship was awarded for my PhD studies while now has been awarded the CAPES-SCBA fellowship for my Postdoc research support.
MY RESEARCH
I am interested in developing benign and cost-effective synthetic approaches for the everyday problems of health such as cancer, microbes etc. My long-term goal is to fulfil the UNSDGs 03, 04, 06, 09, 13, and 17 either by my research and/or teaching. Read more about these projects below.

CARBON NANOPARTICLES
July 8, 2020
Building upon work done in my former lab of PhD, I have developed skills to synthesise Carbon dots with desired properties for their suitable applications. I have developed a synthetic protocol which is hoping to replace the modified Hummer's method. In future, I wish to develop benign and cost-effective synthetic approaches of Carbon NPs for potential applications in cancer and microbes.

ANTI-CANCEROUS NANOPARTICLES
July 8, 2020
Cancerous is of great concern for the last few decades and has been extensively studied. Though a number of possible solutions are available, yet the cost-effective and accessible solutions will have to come. Carbon-based nanoparticles are new non-toxic materials which provide a lot of opportunity for their designing to the most suitable solutions. Here I wish to utilise these materials for treating cancer.

PHYTOCHEMICALS
July 8, 2020
Plants are natural factories of natural products which produce millions of drugs. As these sources are in abundance, cheap, naturally comprising of drugs, hence their use as source for carbon-based nanoparticles synthesis will leads to cost-effective, benign, and high potential nanoparticles.
